Koko Black is one of my favourite chocolate cafes – it always has great chocolate, wonderful service, a homely atmosphere and a touch of class. I always enjoying going to the Collins St cafe because of its interior; dark cedar wooden floors, deep leather couches, crystal chandeliers and a public viewing chocolate cooking room to peek at the chefs.
The iced chocolate is served with a nice dollop of vanilla bean ice cream – exactly how iced chocolates should be, served with ice cream! And it’s not overly sweet nor too bland. I order the Belgium Delight tasting dish and it has petite servings of belgium chocolate ice cream, chocolate mousse, a choice of 2 chocolates, a shortbread cookie and chocolate brownie. Simply bliss.
It may seem like a chocolate overload, but the trick is to take the time to relax, slowly enjoy and savour each bite.
